Service & Maintenance

We specialise in the service & maintenance of domestic and commercial on-site wastewater treatment systems throughout Ireland including septic tank systems, pump stations, grease separators, packaged secondary wastewater treatment systems (also known as sewage treatment plants), tertiary filters, low-pressure pipe networks, and percolation areas.

Your on-site wastewater treatment system will require regular service & maintenance at the recommended intervals. In most cases, this will be one single routine service callout carried out every 12-months. Some of the benefits of regularly servicing & maintaining your on-site wastewater treatment system are:

  • Stay compliant with the EPA Code Of Practice 2021, S.R. 66:2015, and the Building Regulations Technical Guidance Document H.

  • Reduce wear and tear of mechanical/electrical components.

  • Maximise performance and reliability.

  • Ensure the treated wastewater meets the standards set out as part of your planning application.

  • Identify minor issues and patterns that may be affecting the biological process of your on-site wastewater treatment system.

  • Help protect your drinking water and environment.

What is included in a routine service callout?

  • Inspection of the control panel and operation/fault menu.

  • Replacement air filter (if applicable).

  • Functional check of all mechanical/electrical components such as the control panel, air compressor, water pump, valves, high-level alarm, and pipework.

  • Inspect the structural condition of your on-site wastewater treatment system including the percolation area.

  • Flushing/cleaning the low-pressure pipe network (if applicable).

  • pH level reading.

  • Oxygen concentration reading for adjusting the operating times of the air compressor (if applicable).

  • Sludge volume proportion test (SV30) for accurate de-sludging intervals specific to your site (if applicable).

  • Effluent sampling and laboratory testing (if applicable).

  • Full digital report within minutes of us completing the routine service callout.

  • Automated reminders when you are due a routine service callout.

  • Receipts for the Local County Council as part of your service & maintenance contract and planning application.

De-sludging (emptying)

Please note that your on-site wastewater treatment system will need to be de-sludged at regular intervals. This will depend on the type of on-site wastewater treatment system you have installed as well as the hydraulic and or organic loading/capacity. As part of a routine service callout, we carry out an SV30 sludge volume proportion test to give us a more accurate figure in relation to de-sludging intervals specific to your site (if applicable).

As a rule of thumb, we recommend that most of our customers will need to de-sludge their on-site wastewater treatment system every 12-18 months. Unfortunately, we don't provide this service but we have put together a list of licensed de-sludging companies throughout Ireland. Check out the full list here.

Replacement Parts

We carry an extensive range of replacement parts suitable for various types of septic tank systems, pump stations, grease separators, packaged secondary wastewater treatment systems (also known as sewage treatment plants), tertiary filters, low-pressure pipe networks, and percolation areas.

Occasionally, specialised parts need to be sourced for certain types of on-site wastewater treatment systems (eg. Rotating biological contactors). If you are unsure about the type of on-site wastewater treatment system you have installed on your site, please feel free to contact our office for technical support prior to scheduling a service callout.
